How do I replace roof shingles?

What can I expect when I get my roof replaced?

There are several steps to a roof replacement:

  1. Arrival of dumpster & shingles.
  2. Protect landscape & begin tearing off old shingles (or we use the Equipter!)
  3. Replacement of old/damaged roof deck with new boards
  4. Installation of ice and water barrier 6' up
  5. Synthetic underlayment installed for the rest of the roof
  6. Installation of shingles
  7. Cleaning up any nails from property
  8. Roof audit after installation

Can you put the dumpster on the street?

Each town has different regulations, permit requirements, and other restrictions regarding dumpsters on streets and other private property. KTM Exteriors is not responsible for obtaining these permissions - we highly recommend you contact your local municipality for further information on regulations and costs.

How high can I load my dumpster?

We like to use the "cover on a lid" analogy. Safely transporting these dumpsters requires a cover - like boxing up your leftovers for the fridge. We won't be able to put a lid on it if it's piled too high!

What can I not put in the dumpster?

A full list will be detailed in your Dumpster Agreement, but items such as:

  • Corrosive materials or liquids
  • Liquids of any kind
  • Propane tanks
  • Medical waste
  • Animal carcasses
  • Extremely heavy material (i.e., rock, gravel)

Will there be damage to my driveway or landscaping?

Are there any items billed separately?

Yes. While a full list can be provided in your Dumpster Agreement, items like appliances, A/C units, computers, and tires are billed at an additional cost.

**IMPORTANT: If you are including any of the separately billed items outlined in the Dumpster Agreement in your dumpster, we ask that you put these at the TOP of the dumpster so we can quickly identify these items!**

How long can I rent my dumpster for?

Unless stated otherwise in your Dumpster Agreement, our initial rental periods are two (2) weeks. But you can keep the dumpster as long as you need to - after two weeks, we will bill you on a weekly basis.

How is the pick-up and drop-off process coordinated?

A time window will be coordinated for when the dumpster will be picked up and dropped by KTM Exteriors. If there is a specific time window you would like, please call us the day before.

For Pick-Up: Please give KTM Exteriors a 48-hour notice for when you would like your dumpster picked up

Can I relocate my dumpster if needed?

Of course! If you need it moved to a different location on your property, we charge a small fee (it's heavy!) for relocation. If you need the dumpster relocated to another location, we will charge $150.
